Getting started with therapy always sounds daunting! Now that you’ve made it this far, if there is a clinician you feel would be a good fit for your needs, check out their profile page for all the best ways to contact them. From there, you and the clinician can decide what next steps to take to set up an appointment or consultation.

Session costs depend on a few factors - how you are covering sessions, and the clinician you work with. We accept several HMO and PPO insurance plans (see “Payment” page for details). Each clinician also has their own cash-pay rate and sliding scale system.

Excellent question! Each clinician has a different approach to their practice, you can generally expect the first session to focus on exploring your goals for therapy, building trust/comfort with your clinician, and sharing relevant background information.

The short answer is no! While there are exceptions to confidentiality in therapy (immediate risk to yourself, risk of you harming someone else, illegal behavior, or suspected abuse), therapy should be a place you feel able to share your thoughts and feelings without fear or punishment. Each clinician may have additional rules to this, so it’s important to have that discussion in your first session.
